Ways You Can Contribute to Society Now

The world is a wonderful place. But it can be even more wonderful, and I’m not talking about a new iPhone or the latest season of Game of Thrones. I’m talking about you, and how you can contribute to society now. We’ve all been there: you’re sitting at home, watching TV or scrolling through Instagram, when suddenly you have an idea for some kind of contribution to your community or local government. You might be thinking about volunteering at your favorite animal shelter or organizing a clothing drive for your school’s homeless population. And then you think, “Should I really do this? Who’s going to take me seriously?” Well guess what? You don’t have to wait until someone takes you seriously—you can start making changes now!

The Ice Bucket Challenge

Have you ever heard of the Ice Bucket Challenge? It’s a social media craze that raised awareness for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). What began as an individual phenomenon has now become a nationwide movement. But looking at the bigger picture, millions of people quietly and unassumingly give back to their community every day.

But this was a while ago – what can you do to contribute to society now?

Volunteer at a dog shelter

Volunteering at a dog shelter is a great way to give back to your community, and it’s also an excellent way to meet new people. If you’ve never volunteered before, it can feel like a big commitment. But the truth is, most shelters are happy to have you help out in any way—and you can start small! Here are some ideas for ways that you can contribute even if you don’t have much time on your hands:

-Take a walk with one of the dogs. Dogs love walks! And they’re also great therapy for their human companions. You’ll get some exercise while helping out one of our furry friends in need!

-Bring treats or toys for the dogs. It’s easy to forget about treats when you’re busy, so having them on hand can be a lifesaver if there’s no one else around who can bring them!

-Help clean up after the dogs after they’ve been let out into their runs or play areas. This is especially helpful when there are fewer people around during off-hours at the shelter (like during evenings and weekends).

Help seniors

We all know that seniors are the backbone of our society. They’ve worked hard and given us a lot. It’s time for us to give back! Here are some ways you can contribute to society now by helping seniors:

-Offer them a ride if you see them struggling with their bags or walking with difficulty. You don’t have to be their family member or friend—you just need to be kind.

-Donate old clothes, books, and other items they may want or need. Give them your old cell phone so they can stay in touch with family and friends if they don’t have one right now. You could also offer to update their computer and software when necessary so they’re able to continue using it comfortably into old age without having to constantly buy new products as they become obsolete over time.

-Help them learn how to use technology like smartphones or tablets so they can stay connected with others even if they don’t live near their loved ones anymore (especially important if they’re feeling isolated from society due to lack of mobility).
